Snave Is Home

March 21, 2010

My 90-year-old father-in-law, Bob Snavely, returned home from the hospital today for the first time in nearly two weeks.  He was hospitalized for emergency surgery after experiencing extreme abdominal pain.  It turned out he had a deadly bowel obstruction and needed to have about 50 percent of his colon removed.  It was quite an ordeal, but he got through it, and now he’s back in the comfort of his own home.  The nurses at the hospital gave him quite a sendoff, and the caregivers waiting at his home gave him a huge welcome.  So, hopefully, he’ll be squared away and back in the groove.  Monday’s the big day, actually; that’s when his dog, Cupcake, comes home from the kennel.  See you soon.
