Okay, so I’m a fool for Star Trek. I admit it. As such, I think the remastered original series episodes are just fantastic. I also think CBS has set a precedent, and I hope other studios will remaster other classic SFX-heavy properties. I’d like to see them take a crack at original Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers, Space: 1999…even Lost in Space. (Here’s an idea: remaster Land of the Giants, replacing the giant humans on the alien planet with actual aliens and an alien environment. Modify the giant props to alien designs, too. Heh.) As long as the unretouched versions exist in all their cheesy glory alongside the new, I say bring on the remasters.
