I just watched this week’s episode of LOST and loved every minute! The show’s creators and stars have still got it! They’ve got me running in circles, trying to figure out what’s going to happen. They’ve totally mastered the art of giving out just enough information to keep me locked in without giving me enough to kill the suspense. SPOILERS AHEAD (sort of): What is the true identity of the smoke monster/Non-Locke? Will he manage to escape the island? Then what? And has Sawyer gone over to the dark side? What about Sayid? Has he become a savior or threat? And what is up with that parallel reality? I know it’s all going to come together at some point, but how? Oh man oh man oh man, what a show!
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: LOST will be remembered as one of the greatest shows in TV history. I feel fortunate to be able to enjoy it on its first run, with all the surprises still fresh. And I congratulate the show’s producers for an achievement that’s all too rare these days: they never let the cat out of the bag and release nasty spoilers that kill the fun!
My only complaint about all this LOST magnificence? That it’s going to end after this season, leaving me with only MAD MEN, BREAKING BAD, and FAMILY GUY to keep me fully entertained week after week. See you soon!
